Capital gifts provide support for the university's infrastructure. These investments in Heidelberg provide facilities which are commensurate to the excellent liberal arts education for which we are known, and are fundamental for the long-term sustainability of the university as a top-tier liberal arts school.
Ongoing Capital Projects
Construction of the long-awaited Student Athletics, Academic, and Recreation Center is underway. This $27.4 million, donor-funded facility will transform and energize the campus. When completed in August 2025, the 110,000-square-foot Center will serve ALL students with indoor basketball courts, a competition-level track and field space, a turf field, training rooms, locker rooms and classrooms, leadership development and team-building space, a lobby for events and social gatherings and an upper-level mezzanine for events and 2-sided viewing. In addition to a space for the entire campus, the Center also will invite community partnerships.
A Student & Community Welcome Center for the Office of Admission that also would include a “town & gown” bookstore and space for student leadership initiatives. This project will tie the campus more closely to a surging revitalization effort in downtown Tiffin.
